Paver Sealing
Paver Sealing
Strip
Not all pavers need to be stripped prior to sealing. A water test will allow us to see if stripping will be needed. Paver stripping chemicals are generally extremely toxic and bad for the environment. At Xterra Clean, we use only use an eco friendly stripper that is extremely low odor and earth safe, all while achieving the desired surface prep.
Clean
Our technicians thoroughly clean the pavers to remove any mold, mildew, weeds and other contaminants both on top and in between the pavers. We want to make sure the surface is as close to new as possible. We then pressure edge the sides to ensure our sealer will reach and adhere to all areas.
Sand
Once the surface has been immaculately cleaned, our technicians then add new sand to help stabilize the joints. These are then wet in to ensure proper compaction. Our technicians apply joint sand according to the ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) industry standards. The ICPI calls for joint sand to be between 1/8th and 1/4th inch below the edge of the brick paver.
Seal
Our two-part, water-based sealer allows for deep joint penetration. All while providing an enhanced, wet look appearance and semi-gloss finish, all in an eco-friendly, low-VOC formulation. In fact, because of the high humidity in our area, our water based sealers often outlast solvent based sealers!
